The Cabinet of Syria is the chief executive body of the Syrian Arab Republic. According to the Constitution of Syria:[1]

President Bashar al-Assad accepted the entire cabinet's resignation after a meeting on Tuesday, 29 March 2011.[2] Al-Assad then appointed outgoing Prime Minister Muhammad Naji al-Otari to continue as caretaker prime minister until a new government is appointed.[3] On 3 April 2011, Assad appointed for Minister of Agriculture Adel Safar the new Prime Minister.[4]
On 6 April the state-run al-Ekhbaria TV channel said that Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, Minister of Defense Ali Habib Mahmoud, Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs Mohammed Abdul-Sattar Al_Sayed, and Minister of Presidential Palace Affairs Mansour Fadlallah Azzam would remain in the new cabinet.[5]
On 9 April, DayPress News reported the new cabinet was expected to be announced in the next week.[6]
On 14 April, the new government was officially announced.[7][8]

This is the original Cabinet of Syria formed by Muhammad Naji al-Otari on 10 September 2003. The cabinet has since been reshuffled several times by presidential decrees.
12 May 2004: One minister was replaced.[10]
4 October 2004: Eight ministers were replaced.[10]
21 February 2006: 15 ministers were replaced.[10]
8 December 2007: Two ministers were replaced.[11]
30 July 2008: One minister was replaced.[12]
18 September 2008: Two ministers were replaced.[13]
23 April 2009: Five ministers were replaced, and a new ministry was established, Ministry of the Environment.[14]
3 June 2009: One minister was replaced.[15]
19 January 2010: One minister was replaced.[16]
3 October 2010: Two ministers were replaced.[17]
29 March 2011: All ministers resigned from their posts at the President's request. The Prime Minister was then reappointed to run a caretaker government, and the other ministers were kept in place.
